Alex Francis

Having served an apprenticeship as an electrician/electrical draughtsman, I went on to do a variety of jobs and eventually joined IBM in 1978 as a test technician. Again with IBM I did a variety of jobs including a maintenance engineer, CAD Draughtsman and finally as a desktop publisher creating user guides for monitors. I started woodturning in 2006 when I managed to purchase an old Record Lathe for £25.I have since purchased a CCL lathe but have converted the record to a bowl lathe with a free standing tool rest. I make bowls, pens, clocks and boxes.
